Have you heard about the huge uproar with Hoodia?

Well, it’s supposedly this miraculous weight loss product that’s been getting mucho news coverage and is highly touted for it’s ability to blunt the appetite of the person that is taking it.

3. Also, since it is technically a plant and is a naturally occurring supplement, the contents aren’t regulated by the government. Now, this in itself isn’t bad… but the fact that you may not be getting any of the active ingredient in your bottle is!

4. I haven’t seen a single bodybuilder in the world use hoodia to drop body fat levels for a competition. Call me crazy but if a person that is dropping body fat (with only a small amount of muscle mass leaving as well) isn’t using it… I don’t think I want to give it a go. In general, the bodybuilding community has been decades ahead of the rest of the world on diet manipulation. If you’d really like to get an idea of how to eat, grab a bodybuilding magazine. After all, their bodies are their job!

5. And here’s the kicker. The rights to the development of the active ingredient in hoodia (p57) were purchased by Phizer a few years ago. They paid over 21 million to get them. Guess what? They GAVE THE RIGHTS BACK. Phizer spent 21 million bucks for the rights to developing a drug compound based on the active ingredient in Hoodia and obviously DID NOT SEE the use in continuing.

Now, we can conjecture all we want about why Phizer gave the rights back. But, for all practical purposes… who cares why. I just care that they DID after spending 21 mil on it.

It must not be worth it. Period.

This diagram shows the exact reason that most people fail when it comes to “diet” or “getting ripped”.

This is also the reason that hoodia will not work in the long term.

One more red flag with hoodia: The real stuff is expensive.
